Beth was teaching a class at Paper and Metal Scrappers. After taking a long look at my messy studio still waiting to be cleaned from all the CHA projets, and realizing it had been forever since I made some art for art’s sake, I called up my friends at the store and signed up for the workshop.
There were five of us using Beth’s images as a starting point and a heaping table overflowing with glitter, metal bits, rub-ons- stamps,Vintage German scrap and all kinds of heavenly embellishment goodness. Each time we asked Beth for something, she dug out another box. Brenda, one of the store’s owners, remarked that it would take 4 hours to clean up from our class.
I made 6 Valentine’s Day-themed ATCs. I plan to give them all away to some of my closest artsy friends that I know will keep and treasure my little gift of art.
I also whipped up some super simple earrings made from our new heart charms. These funky charms were handcrafted by Susan and cast in white and yellow bronze. I love how quick it was to make 6 sets of earrings to go with my handmade ATCs.
By the way, the kissing girl and boy in the ATC above is a vintage image from a Ladies Home Journal magazine from the 1950s. I like to think of them as me and my hubby’s younger alter egos that still had time and energy for such things before we decided to raise a family together. Ah, young love….
Here’s wishing you an Artful Day!
