LIVE From CHA Giveaway

Have you heard about the LIVE from CHA webcasting/livestreaming event put on by the fabulous organization Charity Wings? If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to walk around the huge Winter Craft and Hobby Association Trade Show, Elena Lai Etcheverry (the founder of Charity Wings) began this very fun livestreaming a few years ago where they cover the opening 2 days of the event.

Elena began Charity Wings seven years ago to combine her love of crafting with her background in event planning and fundraising to raise money for charity. So far, the Charity Wings volunteers have raised more than $360,000 for great causes. I met Elena last Winter CHA and found out more about her organization. I’m impressed and have been lending a hand whenever I can.

Elena jam-packs CHA Live with tons of interviews from your favorite craft manufacturers and interviews with some of the best and most well-known Designers. In addition to the event, participants get a kit of products shipped to their home that are donations from all the supporting manufacturers. The kit alone is easily worth the $39 price of the pass in brand new product that’s being debuted at CHA. (

Side note: Isn’t the logo above so cute? It was designed by my fellow CHA Designer Member Jennifer Priest who’s a self-proclaimed “addicted scrapbooker”. Love her blog!)

CHA Live takes place January 29 and 30th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. In addition to the kit, manufacturers donate prizes throughout the livestreaming so there are lots of chances of winning product AND handmade art. We’ll be participating with Susan Lenart Kazmer ICE Resin, giving away goodies bags worth more than $100, which includes a handmade jewelry piece, some ICE Resin, bezels and a signed copy of my book, Explore, Create, Resinate. She’ll also be at our booth too, so you’ll get a tour of what our ICE Resin team has been working so hard on for the past couple of months. We’re just one of many.

So, here’s the cool part. Elena is giving me (along with other designer friends of mine) the chance to GIVE AWAY an exclusive All Access Pass to CHA to one lucky winner. If you live in the U.S., I will pay the cost of shipping for the kit, which is around $10.50. If you happen to sign up for the giveaway and live in Canada or International, I’m sorry but you will need to fund the shipping costs. Please email info@charitywings.com to get a price quote.

All you have to do to be entered to win the All Access Pass, is leave a comment here to let me know what kinds of products and ideas you are most excited about seeing at the upcoming Winter CHA trade show. Because kits are being shipping at the end of the week, the contest will close Thursday Jan. 19th at 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

Good luck everyone!

  4. I’ve seen a trend with new embellishments of the Steampunk genre and that always intrigues me. I look forward to seeing what new vintage styles companies have come up with. It seems to be an even bigger trend this year. I am excited to see what new metals and yes, bezels too are going to be offered. Enjoy the trip this year. Safe journeys.

  5. Sounds like so much fun. I so want to go to CHA but it’s just not doable this year. I’m really interested in working with ICE Resin. Its in my list of items to work with this year. My current passion is jewelry designing.finally getting serious about setting up my ETSY store and learning marketing and network techniqueas. Finding out about using social media to inhance sales techniques. Looking to open an artist studio here in Chattanooga this year. A place where artists will have a place to work, teach, display and sell their work. Hope I win what a treat.

  6. I have always been curious about attending CHA, however winning a live video stream would be awsome.

  8. I am way excited to see all of the new product releases, but can’t wait to see Tim Holtz new lines! Thanks for this chance to win a ticket to Live from CHA!

  9. I LOVE finding new products. I live in a small town and have limited access to art supplies. I guess that’s why I tend to focus recycled work. I tend to use supplies from all different art media in my work, and in ways other that what they were intended! I use scrap booking supplies in jewelry and inks and paints in my encaustics! The internet has afforded me the opportunity to access more supplies that ever before. It would be a treat to hear about all the new products. Im most interested in products I can incorporate into my jewelry. Have a safe and productive trip.

  12. I have read many blog posts about CHA and they have all made me want to attend.
The air must vibrate with all that creativity packed into one place. Since I won’t make the show this year….Thanks for the opportunity to enter the contest and experience CHA via the giveaways.

  13. What an opportunity! Thank you! CHA is something like heaven-unvisited for me and this would be super. I would be looking for something totally new to me, something that resonates and holds me spell-bound. Right now art journaling, mixed-media, and polyclay are tops with me in addition to my longtime passion of using stamps for everything. ICE resin is new to me and I want to know about that! It sounds indispensable for mixed-media but I don’t know anything about it. Must get that Cloth, Paper, Scissors Jan 2012 issue that you mentioned. Thanks!!!!

  14. I am excited to try out new products that I’ve never tried before and I am dying to see what’s new from Tim Holtz! Thanks for the chance to win!

  15. I live in Florida but always look forward to seeing what the industry has in store for us! I would love to see how the Ice Resin works as I’ve only used one step glazes. New flowers and spray mediums are high on my must see list! What a great idea this! Thanks!

  16. Oh Wow! What an A M A Z I N G opportunity! and Generous Giveway! Thank you for the chance :)
I’ve always wanted to go and I think there’s so MANY Things that are ExCiTiNg such as all the new altered and 3D Dies coming out.

  17. This sounds fabulous! I am hoping to see something unusual come out of CHA this year. I’m excited about some of the wood veneers pieces that I’ve seen sneeks of, new masks, and always stamps. Thanks for the chance!

  18. Hi Jen my brain hits max warp when I see new products my hands can’t keep up and neither can my wallet! I stalk the internet looking at everything I can find about CHA all of my favorite companies websites for their sneak peaks and blogs. I just made my first mixed media canvas and loved it going to make many more. I’m excited to see metals and papers and paints and fabrics and cricut and prima. Thank you Jen for this chance to win hope you have a crafty day today! :) Jill M.

  20. I would just love to see the upcoming scrapbook, and mixed media venders have. Especially Teresa Collins, Donna Salazar, Clear Scraps, Prima,(YUM), Cricut, Little Yellow Bicycle…well, just about everything, really!

  21. I have always wanted to attend CHA in person, but since that isn’t possible, this is the next best thing! Thank you so much for the opportunity to win. :)

  22. Oh wow… the show is only 3 hours south of me…. I was going to submit an application to attend, but if I can’t make it, then I would love to see this as a live stream. In fact… that might be the best option…no dealing with SoCal traffic! I know that Ranger and Vintaj are introducing a new line of metal patinas…and that workshop is totally sold out, of course. I’m really interested in seeing these.. Vintaj announced it last week and it looks wonderful.

I’m a sucker for alcohol based inks in my work, and the Spectrum Noir pens look neat. I know they’re not exactly brand new, but they’re something I’ve been wanting to see in action, and I noticed they’re hosting a workshop to help users become certified.

Mostly, I want to see what many of the designer trends are right now. I know that in fashion, art deco and bright colors are all over the place. I’m wondering if the craft world will be showing that, too.

  23. having only visited anaheim 2 in 56 years, and living in Texas, won’t make the show this year, but would love the opportunity to pay postage for the giveaways. Looks like much fun
